project overview
After a near-fatal accident at a party, Ryan McDillon is given thirty days to sort out his life as part of a wager between Angel and Mr. Grim, who have a work-related bet riding on his fate. To avoid death, Ryan must make amends with the people in his life, navigating a maze of complications: his dysfunctional family, a pregnant girlfriend while hiding his boyfriend from her, a self-serving best friend who pulls him back into the party scene, painful childhood PTSD triggered by his former pastor, and a struggle with sobriety. While Ryan fights for survival, Angel and Mr. Grim are locked in their own corporate battle. Both are climbing the ranks of their respective organizations, striving to outdo one another, while rival colleagues join the fray. As they push to get closer to their bosses, they quickly learn that rising through the ranks is far from easy. In a twist, their bosses—God and the devil—have upped the stakes, not just for Ryan but for all mortals. As a holy war rages on, the two higher powers battle for souls, but not every mortal will make it through, and there’s no clear winner in sight as the war intensifies.

Review
The protagonist of this tale is Ryan McDillon, who, following a near-fatal accident, is granted 30 days to turn his life around. Angel and Mr. Grim wager on Ryan’s ability to restore his broken relationships with his toxic best friend, pregnant girlfriend, secret boyfriend, and chaotic family. Ryan fights with sobriety and confronts memories of past tragedy. He is going to die if he fails. Angel and Mr. Grim, meantime, are engaged in a race of their own as they advance up the corporate ladder at their company while being observed by their superiors, God and the devil, who are engaged in a conflict over mortal souls. The characters understand that success won’t come easily as the stakes climb, but it’s still uncertain who will win the game in the end. Its distinctive storyline is crafted by combining dark comedy, supernatural aspects, and human drama.
