Project overview
On a distant planet at the galaxy’s edge, a peaceful human colony is decimated by an unstoppable force: drones. These relentless machines attack without mercy, leaving a trail of destruction. In the aftermath, only one survivor remains—one of two identical twin sisters—her memory fractured by the violent onslaught.
Enter “Brian,” an advanced artificial intelligence with extraordinary capabilities. Brian saves the lone survivor and offers her a path to reclaim her life. She embarks on a rigorous journey, training to become a Drone Runner—a highly skilled operative with a single mission: to hunt down and neutralize rogue drones. As she returns to the remnants of her colony, her motivation is unclear. Is she driven by a thirst for justice, or is it revenge that fuels her?
As the narrative unfolds, we witness the tense battle between humanity’s last hope and the cold precision of the machines that destroyed her world. Themes of survival, resilience, and the fine line between retribution and redemption are explored in this gripping tale.
Drone Runner II challenges us with profound questions: Can revenge ever heal the wounds of loss? In a world dominated by emotionless machines, is there still room for justice? The answers lie within the thrilling action and emotional depth of this compelling sci-fi story.

Director’s statement
Inspired by the iconic works of Sergio Leone, John Ford, and Sam Peckinpah, DRONE RUNNER II pushes the boundaries of independent filmmaking by harnessing the power of AI to streamline production costs. Combining traditional cel animation with 3D techniques, the film follows a young woman with no memory of her past as she embarks on a mission against a drone enclave, torn between seeking vengeance and delivering justice.
Key themes explored in DRONE RUNNER II include:
- Technology vs. Humanity: A reflection on the conflict between advanced drones and the enduring strength of the human spirit.
- Survival and Redemption: The protagonist’s fight for survival intertwines with her journey for redemption.
- Moral Ambiguity: The film blurs the lines between revenge and justice as she confronts her enemies.
- Personal Growth: A central focus on overcoming the past to shape one’s present identity.
Although DRONE RUNNER II is not a direct sequel to the multi-award-winning DRONE RUNNER (2022), it enriches the original narrative through numerous callbacks, offering deeper insights into the backstory.
